Dr Donna Armstrong
General Practitioner, Skin Cancer Physician
Dr Donna Armstrong offers a comprehensive range of general practice services at Southport Doctors. She has a special interest in women’s and children’s health, including the insertion of long-acting contraceptives, and antenatal and postnatal care, and has established a reputation as a sought-after female doctor on the Gold Coast. Dr Armstrong also leads Southport Skin Cancer Centre alongside Dr Neil Chorley and has completed extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of both cancerous and benign skin lesions.
Dr Armstrong graduated from The University of Queensland in 1983. For twenty years, she worked in a rural community where she provided whole of life care, including emergency care, hospital inpatient management, surgery, obstetrics and General Practice. Dr Armstrong relocated to the Gold Coast in 2006 with her family where she has continued to provide quality General Practice and skin cancer medicine.
Although skin cancer was prolific in the rural community, skin cancer medicine became more of a focus in 2008. Dr Armstrong now works half her week in General Practice and the rest doing skin cancer medicine, further enhancing the procedural nature of our practice. With ongoing medical education in the field, she now performs all surgical repairs including flap surgery and grafts. Having the option of a female medical practitioner performing skin checks is appreciated by many women.
