Dr Michael Read has been performing circumcisions for over 30 years using the Plastibell technique on infants and boys, and the sleeve technique on adults. Circumcision is a medical procedure carried out for the purpose of medical, sexual, health, religious and cosmetic reasons. Whether the circumcision is for yourself or your child, Dr Read will ensure the best care is provided in a comfortable practice environment. After the procedure, you can return to normal activities within days.

Vasectomy Centre
Dr Michael Read has over 30 years’ experience performing the vasectomy procedure. The vasectomy is a minor surgical procedure to stop sperm passing from the testicles. The procedure provides permanent birth control that is effective. Dr Reads performs the no scalpel (keyhole) vasectomy, because there is a lower risk for complications and no stitches are required. No referral is required to have a vasectomy.

Australia is the skin cancer capital of the world, as 80% of all new cancer cases are skin cancer related. However, skin cancer is also the most preventable common cancer. Prevention of skin cancer involves regularly checking yours and your partners skin every three months and having a skin check with a doctor once a year, or more often if required. Wear sun protection and avoid overexposure where possible.

Dr Michael Read MBBS
General Practitioner, Vasectomy & Circumcision
Dr Michael Read graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1983. Following graduation, he worked for two years at the Royal Brisbane & Prince Charles Hospitals before taking up the position of Medical Superintendent with Right of Private Practice in the rural community of Monto.
For over 20 years he provided the complete spectrum of medical services to this community, including emergency care, surgery, obstetrics and general medicine. It was here that Dr Read developed an interest in vasectomy and circumcision procedures and has since performed several thousand over the past 30+ years.
Dr Read relocated to the Gold Coast with his family in 2006 where he now operates Southport Doctors, Gold Coast Vasectomy Centre and Gold Coast Circumcision Centre.
Dr Read is a Designated Aviation Medical Practitioner (DAME), and so is approved to perform Aviation Medicals.
When not with patients you’ll find him on the running track, cultivating his ever-growing collection of indoor plants or sitting at a coffee shop scheming up ideas for his next project.
Dr Donna Armstrong MBBS
General Practitioner & Accredited Skin Cancer Physician
Dr Donna Armstrong graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1982. Following graduation, she worked for three years at the Royal Brisbane Hospital where she developed a particular interest in Anaesthetics. However, in 1986 an opportunity arose to work in the rural community of Monto where, for the following twenty years, she provided whole of life care, including emergency care, hospital inpatient management, surgery, obstetrics and General Practice.
Dr Armstrong relocated to the Gold Coast with her husband and two children in 2006 where she continues to practice in all areas of general practice at Southport Doctors. Donna particularly enjoys women’s health; including contraception, pregnancy and postnatal care, and children’s health.
Skin cancer medicine became more of a focus in 2008 and, after completing significant additional study and assessment in the diagnosis, treatment and management of skin cancer, Dr Armstrong is now a fully accredited skin cancer doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. She performs all surgical repairs including complex flap surgery and grafts, achieving attractive cosmetic outcomes for her patients.
Outside of the practice, Dr Donna enjoys Pilates, musical theatre, and expanding her collection of Mariana earrings.
Dr Bill Cassimatis MBBS
General Practitioner
After graduating from the University of Queensland in 1980 and completing his hospital placements in Brisbane, Dr Cassimatis moved to Tasmania, where he worked in rural general practice and accident & emergency for 4 years, spending time in remote medicine including the Bass Strait Islands.
After returning to Queensland he has now been in General Practice in Southport for the past 35 years and thoroughly enjoys the interaction with his patients.
Dr Cassimatis is interested in all aspects of General Practice.
Dr Anna Mullins MBBS [Hons Class 1], FRACGP, FASLM, B App. Sci (Ex Sci) [Hons Class 1]
General Practitioner
Dr Anna Mullins loves being a GP. She offers a full range of general practice services.
Anna completed her medical training at the University of Qld. She has spent time working in Far North Queensland and on the Darling Downs. She is very excited to now call the Gold Coast home.
Prior to GP training Anna worked as a medical registrar and developed an interest in managing complex chronic disease. Anna’s special interest include cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, diabetes, allergy and infectious disease.
Anna really enjoys all aspects of paediatrics, women’s health and antenatal care. She holds a certificate in Sexual Health and Family Planning. Anna performs skin checks and minor skin procedures.
Anna has recently completed her Fellowship in Lifestyle Medicine. She is very passionate about the evidence-based benefits of exercise, nutrition, mental-wellbeing and sleep health.
Dr Neil Chorley MBBS, FRACGP, FACRRM, FSCCA, Dip.P.Derm
Accredited Skin Cancer Physician
Dr Chorley has twenty years’ experience as a rural general practitioner with a special interest in skin cancer surgery. Since 2007, he has practiced as a full-time skin cancer physician in the Southport area. At Southport Doctors, he works solely in the skin cancer branch of the practice, Southport Skin Cancer Centre.
Dr Chorley holds a Fellowship with the Skin Cancer College Australasia. He is the former President of the Australasian College of Skin Cancer Medicine (ACSCM) and is currently an examiner for the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA) and tutor for the advanced certificate. Dr Chorley has received a Diploma in Practical Dermatology (Cardiff University) with distinction and is on the tutor role for the Diploma. He is also on the accreditation committee of the Skin Cancer College Australasia. Dr Chorley has completed extensive training in surgery, sport’s medicine, acupuncture and clinical hypnosis.
Dr Graham Sivyer MBBS [Hons], FRACGP, FSCCA
Accredited Skin Cancer Physician
Dr Sivyer has been involved in full-time skin cancer management on the Gold Coast since 2008. During this period Dr Sivyer became a Fellow of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. He is an examiner for the College and also holds the academic title of Senior Lecturer, School of Medicine University of Queensland.
Dr Sivyer has had a number of research papers published in the international journals ‘Dermatology Practical and Conceptual’ and ‘Journal of Surgical Reconstruction [J.P.R.A.S]’.
At Southport Doctors, Dr Sivyer works on Level 3 at our dedicated skin clinic, Southport Skin Cancer Centre, where his focus is on providing the best practice of skin cancer management and treatment, including complex skin surgery involving flaps and grafts.
Dr Mary-Anne Lee MBBS
General Practitioner
Dr Mary-Anne Lee was born and raised in Brisbane. Following graduation from University of Queensland in 1982, she held the role of House Officer and undertook her GP Registrar training at Royal Brisbane Hospital. Dr Lee spent two years at the Gold Coast Hospital and one year overseas at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, before ultimately returning to General Practice about 30 years ago.
She likes all aspects of family medicine including Children’s Health, Women’s Health, Geriatrics and the challenges of Chronic Disease Management.
Outside of work, Mary-Anne enjoys bush walking and theatre.
Dr Harry Davis MBBS
Skin Cancer Physician
Dr Harry Davis graduated from University of Queensland in 1992. Since graduation, he has developed an interest in Skin Cancer Management and has been working in the field for the past 20 years. He was the founder of Skin Scan Australia some 20 years ago.
Dr Harry Davis has a Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and is a member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. He has also been responsible for providing training to other GPs in the past.
Dr Harry Davis is dedicated to helping his patients enjoy healthy lives. He provides a full and detailed skin assessment and, when necessary, a biopsy. If a skin cancer or other spot of concern is found, Dr Harry Davis is highly experienced and skilled in the surgical removal of skin lesions.
In his spare time, Dr Harry Davis enjoys spending time with his family.
Dr Roxana Golusin BBioMedSc, MBBS, FRACGP
General Practitioner
As a result of graduating top of her school, Griffith University offered Dr. Roxana Golusin an academic scholarship to study Biomedical Science. During her studies Roxana discovered her passion for medicine and she went on to complete her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery training at Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus in 2012. She completed further training for three years at the Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital rotating across many medical fields from which she gained her vast experience.
Dr. Roxana then went on to complete her GP specialty having worked across two very busy clinics on the northern end of the Gold Coast before joining the team at Southport Doctors.
She is particularly interested in women’s health and paediatrics. She also enjoys managing chronic disease.
Outside of work, Roxana enjoys Latin dancing, stand up paddle boarding and spending time with her family.
Dr Anna Fitzgerald MBBS (Hons), BSc, FRACGP
General Practitioner
Dr Anna Fitzgerald graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School with 1st Class Honours in 2000 and became a Fellow of the RACGP in 2007. Following graduation, she worked for Queensland Health in Townsville, Gympie, Caboolture and QEII Hospital before undertaking general practice training.
While working in the public health system, Dr Fitzgerald was exposed to a broad range of medicine including emergency care, surgery, paediatrics, women’s health and anaesthetics. Dr Fitzgerald developed a particular interest in paediatrics, general medicine and women’s health. She completed a Certificate in Family Planning and Reproductive Health in 2008 and performs birth control implant insertions.
Outside of the work, Dr Anna enjoys spending time with her family and chasing her very active young daughter. She also enjoys gardening, hiking, cycling and music.
