Specialist Training and Experience
Born in Hong Kong and raised in Sydney, Dr Hung completed a Bachelor in Health and Sports Science at UNSW before studying medicine at Griffith University, Queensland, graduating in 2012. He trained at Gold Coast University Hospital, gaining experience across multiple surgical specialties.
Although he began his career in surgery, Dr Hung discovered a passion for patient-focused care, leading him to complete specialist training in general practice and achieve Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2025.
Skin Cancer Expertise
Dr Hung has a strong interest in skin cancer detection and treatment. He continues to advance his skills through the Skin Cancer College of Australia and performs a range of minor surgical procedures in-practice. Regular theatre work ensures his procedural skills remain current.
Multilingual Care
Dr Hung speaks fluent Cantonese and basic Mandarin, providing accessible healthcare to Southport’s diverse community. Outside the clinic, Gary enjoys racquet sports and fishing.
