    The procedure is completely pain free but the local anesthetic usually causes a short term sting.

    Can I walk or drive after the procedure?

    No, we recommend organising someone to drive you home. While you’ll be able to walk comfortably, you shouldn’t drive after receiving a local anaesthetic.

    Will the toenail grow back after surgery?

    There's a 92% success rate, meaning most ingrown toenails do not return. If regrowth does occur, your podiatrist will discuss additional treatment options.

    What shoes should I wear after the surgery?

    Please wear open-toed shoes or slides to keep the area comfortable and allow for proper dressing after the procedure.

    Is the procedure safe for diabetics?

    The procedure has a high safety profile and is very safe minor outpatient procedure. At your pre screening your podiatrist will discuss the risks, what procedure is needed and discuss the procedure details with you.
